School Council News
Welcome to our School Council page!
Here at Firfield, we promote the pupil voice through our fantastic School Council! Pupils are selected by their peers in a democratic election from Years 1 to 6. Votes are cast based on the person that each class feels would best represent them and the school in a responsible, mature way. Our School Council are all role models within the school. It is their job to act as the pupil voice during monthly meetings with Mr Yellop.
During our meetings, we discuss issues that we feel need addressing around school; ideas to raise money for various charities; and practise for school assemblies, which are aimed at educating pupils about current issues.
Throughout the course of the year, we will:
- Represent the school as part of the Remembrance Day Service in Breaston
- Raise money for charities, both in school and as part of the Christmas and Summer Fayres
- Build links with the local community
- Meet with important members of staff and governors to give feedback on the impact we have made
We are very excited about the year ahead and have lots of great ideas already!
