Firfield PTA
Firfield Primary School PTA
What is the PTA?
The PTA is a group of parents who are willing to give up some time (not that much!) to meet and organise fund raising events. The money raised through these events is used to improve facilities for the children. for example, over the years we have funded:
- Landscaped ramp to the Library Reading Lodge
- Instruments for use during school time
- 32 iPads with cases, a charging trolley and apps
- New Library Reading Lodge
- Contributions towards school trips to lower costs for parents
The PTA have contributed towards our new Reading Lodge that will become a quality library area for all of our pupils and much needed additional school space. During 2022/23, we have raised just over £8,000 - wow! A whopping £3,000 was raised during the Summer Fair alone, we had a great turn out and it was great to have the community all back together following Covid. Thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA, donated and given their time to achieve this fantastic result in what is currently a difficult time for many with the hike in the cost of living. We appreciate every act of generosity no matter how big or small, every little helps!
Next year we hope to raise even more and continue to improve the quality of education and facilities for pupils at Firfield.
Who are the PTA?
The PTA has a committee which includes a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, all of whom are voted in at the October AGM. We also have a Helpers List of parents who provide valuable support by both preparing for, and assisting during, our events. All parents can attend our meetings which are usually held every 4-6 weeks in the Bulls Head and we would welcome any new members. If you would like to speak to us about joining the PTA committee or helpers list, or about any fundraising events or ideas, please feel free to either speak to either speak to us in the playground or we can be contacted through the school office.
